DESCRIPTION

Gator Tile System, the one and only scheme presenting an evolution in base technology. The Gator Base will provide an excellent foundation, while ensuring the load transfer with its Lock-N-Go system and being the perfect support to receive the Gator Spacer, Gator Block glue and porcelain tiles. The overall system will be completed with the help of Gator Tile edge, Gator Base Screws, Gator Tile sand and Gator Fabric that will wrap and complete the system.
Gator Spacer is an innovative solution, creating the space between each porcelain tile. Each spacer can be used full or snapped in either half or partial units, providing the right support and load transfer.
Gator Edge is the fully customizable solution to run around the perimeter of your finished tile installation, providing stability and strong lateral support. Gator Base Screws are specially designed to work with the Gator Base system, securing the edge in place and giving the perfect lateral support to the porcelain tile installation.
Gator Tile Polymeric Sand is a high-quality binding agent that when swept between porcelain tiles, compacted, watered and allowed to set, creates a strong, stable bond that protects your tiles.

DESCRIPTION

Gator Fabric GF4.4 Non-Woven geotextile is ideal for drainage, filtration and will allow water flow of 510 liter per minute per 30 square centimeters. It combines high durability along with excellent physical and hydraulic properties.

BETTER LOAD TRANSFER


One Gator Base panel engineered for paver and tile installation is equivalent to 15 cm of crushed stone. The interlocking panels distribute all dynamic loads to a very wide area practically eliminating any pressure on the ground.

BETTER FREEZE AND THAW PROTECTION


One Gator Base panel acts like 45 cm of crushed stone as a thermal blanket. It is 3 times more effective than crushed stone as an insulator thus significantly reducing freeze and thaw cycles.

DESCRIPTION

Gator Spacer provides uniform spacing and unparalleled stability. The Gator Spacer has been designed to provide the right support, load transfer and a monolithic surface binding all units together.

FEATURES

  • Provide’s the perfect joint width between tiles.
  • Spacer can be cut into either a half- or a quarter-unit using an utility knife to be used along the edge of a building or the Gator Tile Edge.
  • Simply break the spacer bar’s bridge to obtain a flat disk, used as a levelling center unit on large or long porcelain tiles. Ex; 60 x 90 mm or 20 x 80 mm
  • Available in 3 difference spacer bar width: 3,2 mm, 4,8 mm and 6,4 mm

PACKAGING

Gator Spacer come in 3 different spacer bar width 3,2 mm, 4,8 mm and 6,4 mm. For each size you have 50 units per bag and 6 bags per box (300 units).

The spacer can be cut into either a half- or a quarter-unit (using an utility knife) to be used along the edge of a building or the Gator Edge. Take note that the spacer bar needs to be kept to ensure exact spacing when laying the tile.

DESCRIPTION

GATOR BLOCK BOND XP POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE, LOW VOC is one of the strongest polyurethane adhesives on the market. It is specially formulated for overlays, pool copings, steps and wall caps, concrete pavers, wet cast, natural stones, retaining walls, masonry units, bricks and fire pits up to 204°C.
GATOR BLOCK BOND XP POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE, LOW VOC is formulated to provide a permanent bond in 24 hours to the above materials if properly installed.

PACKAGING

Store in unopened containers in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Storing at elevated temperatures will reduce shelf life. Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Low VOC Adhesive remains flexible even when stored at freezing temperatures.

APPLICATION & INSTRUCTIONS

Method of application of Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Adhesive
Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free of dirt, moisture, loose particles, oil, grease, asphalt, tar, paint, wax, rust, membrane materials, waterproofing or curing and parting compounds.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make sure that the surfaces you are bonding together are clean.
  2. Cut the spout and puncture a hole in the cartridge with a nail.
  3. Using a caulking gun, apply Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Low VOC Adhesive on the clean surfaces.
  4. Join the two surfaces firmly, use twisting motion.

PLEASE NOTE
Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Low VOC Adhesive works at above-freezing temperatures. Material may be repositioned for up to 30 minutes without losing bond strength. Moisture will shorten the open time of polyurethane adhesives. Avoid use when raining or onto standing water.
CURING TIME
Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Low VOC Adhesive forms a tenacious bond overnight. Drying times vary depending on factors such as humidity, porosity, temperature and materials bonded together.
CLEAN UP
Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with a dry cloth; Cured material must be mechanically removed.
COMPOSITION
Gator Block Bond XP Polyurethane Low VOC Adhesive is a high-solids polyurethane elastomer that cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture.

The Gator Tile Edge is the fully customizable solution to run around the perimeter of your finished porcelain tile installation, providing stability and strong lateral support. The Gator Edge is made with 100% polyethylene.
Installation steps
1. It can be installed either before or after the tile installation.
2. Use one Gator Base Screw every second hole for great support strength.
3. Use Gator Base Screws at every junction, this will ensure continuous lateral support.

DESCRIPTION

Gator Tile Sand is a unique mixture of polymer binders and calibrated sand available in Beige, Slate Grey, Ivory and Black. Once Gator Tile Sand sets, it becomes very firm and locks between the porcelain tile joints while still retaining flexibility and providing a long lasting, durable jointing material. Gator Tile Sand is recommended for a variety of pedestrian uses including pool decks, patios, footpaths etc. This product is for use exclusively with the 7 components of the Gator Tile System. It is not for use with porcelain tile laid directly on concrete, or directly on an aggregate or sand base or fresh concrete bed.

Option 3-4 GATOR TILE WITH OVERLAY BASE SYSTEMS ON CONCRETE FOUNDATIONS

  • GATOR TILE SAND at least 3 mm below the Porcelain tile chamfers.
  • Minimum depth of joint 17 mm.
  • Maximum joint width 6 mm.
  • Gator Base must exceed the actual tile installs by 15 cm on all sides.
  • OPTION 3: A 37 mm layer of compacted sand over a concrete slab minimum 10 cm thickness, offering 5 cm drainage holes every 3 m filled with 8 mm clean stone and cover with a geotextile allowing water evacuation trough the concrete slab holes.
  • OPTION 4: A 37 mm layer of compacted sand over 5 cm of 0-20 mm compacted crushed stone covering a concrete slab minimum 10 cm thickness offering 5 cm drainage holes every 3 m filled with 8mm clean stone and cover with a geotextile allowing water evacuation trough the concrete slab holes.

* Gator Tile Sand is meant to be used on projects where water can freely drain through the Gator Base and into the native soils or any other appropriate aggregate or porous concrete material that lies underneath the Gator Base. All areas where the water is unable to evacuate, excessive moisture and humidity will buildup and negatively impact the performance of the Gator Tile Sand. It would be recommended to leave the joints empty under these circumstances to alleviate any moisture issues.

GATOR TILE INSTALLATION

 

WATER ACTIVATION (IMPORTANT NOTES)

  1. Work in manageable sections, ideally about 10 sq.m. at a time, depending on temperature.
  2. Do not allow Gator Tile Sand to wash out of joint.
  3. Never allow tiled surface to dry out during the water activation phase.
  4. Watering must be started at the lowest point of the tiled surface.
  5. Use a watering gun connected to a hose. Setting should be set to shower.
 
IMPORTANT:
The water used in steps 8a to 8c will activate a bonding action as well as condensing GATOR TILE SAND in the joints. It is important to water the GATOR TILE SAND a total of 3 times, as per steps 8a, 8b and 8c. Too little water will not properly activate the GATOR TILE SAND and will reduce the final performance. Moss Gator Tile Sand will not cause nor prevent moss, mold or mildew. Moss, mold and mildew are caused by certain on-site conditions including excess moisture, shade, absence of ventilation, inadequate cleaning or maintenance, presence of soil or other organic debris left on the product.
* Gator Tile Sand is meant to be used on projects where water can freely drain through the Gator Base and into the native soils or any other appropriate aggregate or porous concrete material that lies underneath the Gator Base. All areas where the water is unable to evacuate, excessive moisture and humidity will buildup and negatively impact the performance of the Gator Tile Sand.
