Gator Xturf Seam Tape

For high-end synthetic grass installation

Installation Instructions

STEP 1

A. Place laminated side of the GATOR XTURF SEAM TAPE on the gravel to prevent water absorption from the foundation.

B. Once the GATOR XTURF SEAM TAPE is in place under the turf, and the black dotted line is center between the artificial turfs, nail it at the ends.

STEP 2

Using a glue gun, evenly spread the GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE in a linear or serpentine pattern over the GATOR XTURF SEAM TAPE. The linear pattern or serpentine of glue should be 1” (2.5 cm) inside each edge of the GATOR XTURF ARTIFICIAL GRASS, far enough to not bleed into the middle of the seam. If this happens, clean it up immediately with a solvent such as acetone, thinner, or gasoline

STEP 3

A. Using the GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE in place, it’s time to join the two edges of the artificial grass. Pull the two edges together and carefully close the center evenly (like a zipper)

B. Work slowly and keep your eye on the zipper to ensure perfect alignment between the two pieces. You should see a 1/8” to 1/4” (3-6 mm) gap between them when you join them together

STEP 4

Once the joint is complete, press firmly on the ends and work back along the joint, applying pressure to help the adhesive penetrate the tuft bases and the backing. The joint will be completely covered with infill sand

N.B.

  1. It is always wise to check your spacing before applying the GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE
  2. Using a roller on the joints will ensure proper transfer of the GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE to the backing.
  3. To protect the joints after gluing, it is also recommended to attach two GATOR XTURF NAILS at both ends. These nails and joints will be covered when installing the GATOR INFILL sand.
  4. GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE is a moisture-cured adhesive; it is best to apply the adhesive and activating it by spraying with water before gluing the GATOR XTURF ARTIFICIAL GRASS to the jointing tape. This will accelerate the reaction and therefore the curing of the adhesive.
  5. GATOR XTURF ARTIFICIAL GRASS can be repositioned for up to 30 minutes without losing bond strength.
  6. Humidity shortens the bond time of polyurethane adhesives. Avoid using in the rain or on standing water. GATOR BLOCK BOND XP ADHESIVE forms a strong bond in a short time.
  7. Curing time varies depending on temperature and humidity. Ensure the glue is set (3-4 hours) before brushing the GATOR XTURF ARTIFICIAL GRASS.
